Every island community that survives does so because people chose to care. Here's how you can be one of them.
The biggest thing you can do right now is share our story. Most people — even those interested in Japan — have never heard of the ritō depopulation crisis. Every conversation, social media share, or introduction to someone who might care helps build the network RSBF needs to operate.
RSBF needs people with expertise in nonprofit management, Japanese language, surf instruction, youth mentoring, grant writing, web development, videography, and community organizing. If you have experience living or working in rural Japan, we especially want to hear from you.
Financial contributions directly support program development, equipment acquisition, travel to partner communities, and the establishment of our Japan-based operating entity. RSBF is building toward tax-deductible status.
Know someone in Yamaguchi Prefecture? Have contacts in Japanese municipal government, the surf industry, or youth development nonprofits? Introductions are incredibly valuable for an organization building its network from the ground up.
RSBF is actively seeking partnerships with surf and skate brands, Japanese municipal governments, veteran service organizations, academic institutions studying rural depopulation, and foundations focused on youth development or Japan-related programming.
