A founder-led fund in progress to help preserve the culture, history, and daily life of Japan’s remote islands. The first work is learning on Suō-Ōshima.
A U.S. LLC exists. Kris Baumann is building the fund and studying how support can follow priorities named by island residents and established groups. A Japanese Godo Kaisha is in progress; it is not registered as an operating carrier.
RSBF does not run scheduled cargo routes, deliver food or medicine, own a working island fleet, or operate youth programs. It does not replace ferries, town boats, festivals, or local decisions.
Only if local people ask, RSBF may fund practical support or sponsor a locally led youth club. Any transport activity would be run by a Japanese representative and begin by chartering existing licensed boats. Japanese people would lead island activity.
